The second annual Christmas concert of the Virginia Glee Club was held in December 1942 under the direction of Harry Rogers Pratt as part of the Glee Club 1942-1943 season. This would have been the last Glee Club concert directed by Pratt, preceding his resignation of the directorship of the club in support of the war effort.

An October 1942 College Topics article described Pratt's plans for the concert:

An entirely new loose-leaf folio of music has been prepared by (Pratt) for the December program. The folio contains many Christmas selections of both religious and secular nature. Among possible plans for the program is a caroling procession down the Lawn before the concert in Cabell Hall.

After the procession down the Lawn, the singers will proceed into Cabell Hall. There they will present a program of Christmas music including such compositions as "Lo How a Rose E'er Blooming," "Puer Nobis," "The Holly and the Ivy" as well as several merry Wassail songs. After the program the audience will join in singing the familiar Christmas carols led by Mr. Pratt.[1]
