The Tour of the South in spring 1992 was a weeklong tour by the Virginia Glee Club that was the highlight of the 1991-1992 season. The tour saw the group perform in venues in Chapel Hill, NC; Atlanta and Athens, GA; the Mississippi State House; and Loyola University, New Orleans, LA. The director for the tour was John Liepold.

The stop at the Mississippi State House was a late addition to the tour. As Liepold tells it, he received a call from Hob Bryan asking him if the Glee Club could sing "the Ave Maria" and some Virginia songs in the State House.

The group recorded its performance in New Orleans as A Dove in the Hall.
