From The Waste Land, Part IV (Death by Water) is a setting of a portion of the T.S. Eliot poem The Waste Land, written by Donald MacInnis for the Virginia Glee Club in September 1956. The work was given its premiere by the Glee Club during the Spring Concert (1957) on April 4, 1957 in Old Cabell Hall.
