Lewis M. Allen (August 11, 1874 in Summit Point, West Virginia – May 2, 1949)[1][2] was a member of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1893-1894 season.[3]

After graduating, Allen completed his medical degree in 1893 at the University of Maryland and became a physician. Among the babies he delivered as an obstetrician was Wallis Simpson, later the Duchess of Windsor and for whom Edward VII abdicated the throne. He served in the US Army Medical Corps during World War I, rising to the rank of major. After the war he opened an obstetrics practice in Winchester, Virginia.[4] His son, Lewis M. Allen Jr., was a University of Virginia alumnus and Broadway producer (Annie, A Few Good Men).[5]
