Stephen N. Root (December 23, 1925 - March 30, 2011) was the librarian of the Virginia Glee Club during the 1944-1945 and manager of the Glee Club during the 1945-1946 seasons. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1946, attended Tufts Medical School from 1947-1949, then took a Masters in Public Health from the University of Michigan School of Public Health in 1966. His career in public health included a term at the University of Hartford Graduate School of Business and Public Administration.^[1]
