William McCulley James[1](1880 – July 10, 1942)[2] was the manager of the Virginia Glee Club during the Glee Club 1904-1905 season, and was a member in 1905-1906.[3] While at the University of Virginia he was also the editor of the University of Virginia Magazine[4], a member of the Washington Literary SocietyKappa Alpha, the Hot Feet, O.W.L., and a charter member of the Raven Society.[5]

After graduating from the University, Dr. James worked in the vicinity of the Panama Canal studying malaria.[6] He settled there and became the chief of the medical service of Panama Hospital, establishing himself as an authority on malaria, dysentery, and other tropical diseases.[7] He is buried in the Corozal American Cemetery in Panama City.
